SMS Appointment Reminders

In order to reduce the number of ‘did not attend’ appointments, we have introduced SMS reminder service for all patients that have registered a mobile telephone number with the practice.  Please remember to update us if you change your mobile telephone number.

A SMS message will be sent one day before your appointment, reminding you of the date & time and asking you to cancel if not required.  If you need to cancel please do not reply to the SMS, please ring the surgery.

If you have not registered a mobile number and would like to receive an appointment reminder, please ask at reception.

However if you do not wish to receive reminder messages, please advise our reception staff.

Improving our ‘did not attend’ performance will increase the number of appointments available for all patients and enhance the service we offer to you. If patients had responded to this service it would have allowed us to offer (on average) an additional 16 appointments each day during December 2019.
